The cat is OFFICIALLY out of the bag!

I couldn’t be more thrilled to announce that my debut novel, Composite Creatures, will be published by Angry Robot on May 11^th 2021.

I’ve been keeping my lip buttoned on this one since the beginning of the year, but now that it’s out there in The Bookseller, I can shout about it all I like!

But what is Composite Creatures about?

It’s billed as speculative literary fiction, and explores a near (and very possible) future where we have the choice to sacrifice something precious in order to prolong life and make our time on earth worthwhile. There’s also something strange living in the attic, but you’ll have to read the book to find out more about that…

But anyway! Composite Creatures is a dark, uncanny, and slightly ominous take on both literary and science fiction. The book will be published in May 2021, but it’ll also be available for pre-order from August 2020.

For now, I’m asking myself these three things:

• Can I maintain this level of excitement for a whole year? Potentially.
• Am I going to become insufferable? I hope not.
• Will I be nervously chewing my fingertips to stumps when it’s finally published? Definitely.

But for now I’m off to celebrate! Yey!
